Do ANY of you watch Cougar Town? I just watched the entire first two seasons a couple weeks ago and I really dig it, but I don't know anybody else who watches it so I can't just go around making jokes about penny can and drinking huge glasses of wine. WOE IS ME.

(The new season starts February 14 at 8:30 on ABC and you should check it out! Read more... )

So, before we discuss CASTLE, you need to know something about me ( ... )

That's awesome! I can't believe I didn't know that about you already. Have you seen Midnight in Paris, by any chance? It was one of my favorite movies of 2011 and it has to do with nostalgia for Paris in the 20's. I think you might like it!

Castle PRETTY MUCH MADE ME GIDDY TOO. I literally had to pause it 20 seconds in to COLLECT MYSELF. I loooved the film noir feel, and the bit where Beckett caught him saying "Kate" (hahaha), AND how she got all caught up in the story too and was pissed off when he didn't have the ending. Aaaand him trying to get Ryan to say "boyo," lol. AND YOU KNOW. THAT THING. AT THE END. WHERE THEY, YOU KNOW. Kissed. (I mean, obviously it didn't have the same impact that a legit Castle/Beckett kiss would have--although I JUST REMEMBERED that episode where they did the "undercover makeout" thing, so now I have to go watch THAT ep again, of course--but it's nice to get that sort of thing while still maintaining the ~will they won't they~ plot of the show.)

My slight obsession/romanticism with the 1920's and 1940's isn't something I mention a lot... because I get a lot of weird looks. People can't imagine living in a time without penicillin and computers but... I don't know. There was so much to discover and hope for then. I'm weird. I'm not ashamed ( ... )

Oh yeah, I had forgotten that you haven't been enjoying this season! I'm doubly glad that you liked this ep, then. :-) I am kind of curious what it is about S3-4 that you don't like, though. By and large I think this season has been pretty great.

It's like a trainwreck - you watch it happening, hoping for Heisenberg's uncertainty principle to be true

1. SO glad I STOPPED watching when I sensed it becoming a trainwreck, hahaha. From what I've been seeing about it, it's become the most depressing show on television, y/n?

2. Recently my sister said something along the lines of affecting a situation by observing it, and I said, oh, like Heisenberg's uncertainty principle! And she was like, umm, I don't think that's what that is, though... And I was like, UM. I watch NUMB3RS, okay, I think I KNOW what Heisenberg's UNCERTAINTY principle is.

I kept waiting for Castle to ask Esposito to say "say 'comprendo'" like how he was asking Ryan to say "say 'boyo'".

the past!Alexis was a nice twist.
(though I thought the old man was the bartender, who had married past!Beckett)

ME TOO! I was so confused. haha. But then I watched it again and I realized where I'd been confused. I missed half the episode the first time. I apparently had other things I was doing? I don't even know.
