Numb3rs drabble: Roses So Red, Lilies So Fair

Feb 20, 2007 22:33

Today was kind of awful, and I feel like crap, and I have Important Schoolwork to be writing right now, but it's hard, goddamnit, so instead I wrote a drabble.

The sad thing? The above sentence could go before any single one of my drabbles. Heh.

So, sorry if it sucks, y'all. It felt nice to just write something silly and inconsequential.

Title: Roses So Red, Lilies So Fair
Pairing/Characters: Unspecified, since I'm apparently incapable of writing using names, but in my mind it's Don/Liz.
Rating: PG-15?
Summary: He's the only man she knows who would send her flowers without a note.
Word Count: 100
Spoilers: none
Prompt: "Flowers" at numb3rs100.
Notes/Warnings: Unbetaed. Cross-posted to numb3rs100.
Disclaimer: I don't own these characters, I'm only playing.

When she gets into her office, there are flowers on her desk. No note, but he's the only one who knows about her love of calla lilies.

He's also the only man she knows who would send her flowers without a note. It has to be him.

She stops by his apartment on the way home from work and he acts innocent, grins, claims he doesn't know what she's talking about, when she thanks him for the bouquet.

But after she makes him come, he gathers her close and laughs quietly, whispers in her ear, I knew you'd like them.
