Numb3rs fic: "Maybe You're My Good Luck Charm" (Liz/Nikki, PG-13)

Jun 28, 2010 18:01

I signed up for numb3rswriteoff this round and I've been trying to come up with an idea for this fic ever since (well, not, like... constantly. But you know.), somewhat unsuccessfully. I guess it turned out I was trying to force myself to write David/Liz because I love that pairing so much, but for this particular prompt Liz/Nikki worked much better.

Awwww...

Liz/Nikki is so ... beautiful. While I understand your plight, wanting to write David/Liz because ZOMGflailIlovethem, this worked really well for the prompt. Admittedly, I could imagine it as David/Liz with Liz loving the fluffernutter and David having the lucky penny but I don't want to... it's too perfect the way it is with Liz/Nikki.

I'm talking in circles cause I just got back from yoga and I'm tiiiiiiiired but I had to comment. I really liked this, especially the familiarity between them as they shared breakfast. Nice job. :)

There will still be David/Liz in the writeoff. Of that, you can be sure. *cough*posted tomorrow*cough* :)

PS Thank you for clearing up how to post for the writeoff. I've been confused. Munchkin helped me a lot today but seeing your two posts made it all clear. I think I can do this right tomorrow. LOL.

Haha. I loooove David/Liz but I think in my mind they tend to be kind of a mature, serious couple? Especially compared to like Nikki and Colby, who I see as more playful. IDK! I'm crazy.

I haven't been online for a few days but I'm going to go find your fic right now! Whee...

And haha, it took me a FEW MINUTES double-checking that I was posting everything right. I've done the writeoff a couple times before, so partly it was just having not posted any fic in months and months that threw me off. But I'm glad I could help!

low-key, but powerfully strong, those two are.

I regret never having heard of fluffernutter before. I'd regret not having had any, but it probably only confers good luck on women. (that would fit with my luck)

excellent fic.

ps:
>and he won't stop staring at Liz, like he's just witnessed a miracle.
well, Liz is a miracle.

Aw, thank you!

I have absolutely no idea where the fluffernutter idea came from, because I've actually never had one either. So idk if the luck thing holds true for anyone! ;-)

I absolutely love the idea of Nikki being superstitious and it saving Liz's life... *happy sigh*

Now, what the hell is fluffernutter??!!

Hee. Thanks!

Ack, I almost posted a little note or a link to Wikipedia or something in case people didn't know what it was! It's a sandwich made with peanut butter and marshmallow fluff (which is sort of like... gooey, perpetually melted marshmallows?)

I went and googled fluffernutter after commenting, and that sounds strange! *grins* I can see what Liz meant about such a burst of sweetness first thing in the morning...

LOL. I've actually never had a fluffernutter myself, but I have eaten all of the components separately so I figure I can imagine it pretty well. Marshmallow fluff is ridiiiiculous but delicious if you are a fan of sugar.

Aww, I love that Nikki's good luck charm saved Liz's life, <3
I bet Nikki's fluffernutter sandwich tradition will become a shared routine now.

Awww, now you have me grinning at the thought of them creating traditions together! :-) I'm glad you liked it, thanks.
