I watched 5x14 tonight and knew I wanted to write something for it. It took me a little while to figure out what. BTW, this drabble means I've hit 5000 words of fic posted so far this year, which... is pretty sweet.

She thinks about what it would be like to be in charge. Responsibility. She could always handle that.
She thinks about the easy rapport she's built with David, Colby, even Nikki--Nikki, who says she's trying to be like her. Teamwork.
She thinks about the things she's learned, working with Charlie, the way it's reshaped how she approaches her cases. About losing that edge.
She thinks about Don.
He was right, anyway. It's cold in Denver.
