Movies!

(I think maybe it's time to go to bed, considering it took me three tries to type "movies." Yikes.)

Okay, y'all, my Netflix queue is completely empty, so I need some suggestions!

What are your top movie recommendations? Maybe give me a list somewhere from 1-5?

"Tremors" (either the films or the tv series)

"The Legend of 1900" (1900 is the guy's name)

either "Yesterday" or "2009: Lost Memories"

Gorky Park - My fave film ever: international intrigue/murder mystery, moving love story and a great cast including William Hurt within a year of his best actor Oscar.

Dead Again - Second best twist EVER in film, great Kenneth Brannagh and Emma Thompson, Andy Garcia looking scruffy and sexy, bonus Robin Williams in a fucking awesome cameo role and Derek Jacobi busting out of a role too small to hold him.

Siesta - Not on Netflix, but damn! Casting that blows your mind, that is it would if your mind wasn't already blown from Ellen Barkin NAKED in the first few minutes of the film. Just stunning and Gabriel Byrne/Ellen Barkin? SCORCHING HOT!

Airplane - Funniest shit I've ever seen. Most quoteable movie EVAR. I still laugh just thinking about it.

Shattered - Meh movie with passable acting, but BEST twist I've ever seen in a film. It still blows my mind to think about it. I figured out The Others and The Sixth Sense because I'm good at figuring TV and movies out. This? I NEVER saw coming. You won't either.

Awesome! Thank you.

I think I saw Airplane once, but it was a few years ago so I can't quite remember.

"Better than Chocolate": Ok so this one has my tv girlfriend Christina Cox in it as a baby butch lesbian, so I'm biased. But it's a fun, silly, quotable look at queer life in western Canada in the 90s. Peter Outerbridge steals the show as "Judy ( ... )

Awesome! Those sound cool.

I saw Murderball (maybe twice, even?) when it was in the theater. I agree, it's great.

you can imagine it's not your Grandma's movie about people with disabilities.

Man, it's almost like you know my grandma or something... LOL. My mom liked it though! She's always been interested in wheelchair sports.

I'm not really sure what kind of movies you like... but when I watch a movie - I don't want to have to think about it. I don't watch movies for great social commentary. I have to think too much on a day to day basis - I want to be made to feel or forget... not think. So, movies that I can watch time and time again (you have probably seen most of these but anyway ( ... )

Yeah, I realized afterwards I should have included a list of some of MY top movie picks. Oops. :-) Sometimes I like social commentary, sometimes I like not-thinking. I can definitely enjoy relatively meaningless movies. ;-)

Anyway, thanks! Those movies look cool, except for LOTR, which... I tried to watch, when it came out, and I think I got through the first one, and like half of the second? I don't know. I got kind of bored with it. :-/

Ooh, right, thanks for reminding me about those!! I have seen Ferris Beuller, but I'll add the rest to the list right now. Gracias!

*GASP* Bored by LOTR? *GASP*

Ok... well, not every one gets excited about watching sweaty, rugged Viggo's running around for three hours at a time. So, I'll let it slide. ;p

Glad I could be useful... :)

Well, Viggo was my favorite PART of the movie, for sure. He just couldn't quite make up for the rest of it. ;-)
