I'm such a sucker for when Dean puts Sam's needs and wants (or what he thinks are Sam's needs) before his own. (And I love the idea of Sam "betting" that he would stay.)

I love stories where though Dean is willing and tries to sacrifice everything for Sam, Sam won't let him. I love it when Sam finally finds a way to get Dean to begin to believe that he really does love him and won't leave him again. That betrayal was so deep (and to this day I'll never understand why Sam turned his back on Dean too instead of just his dad after all Dean had done for him why he couldn't separate it all in his head and so hurts the one person who had always been there for him and apparently did it while happily doing the whole college life thing without a care that his only brother could die any night or each unanswered call could be his last). Sigh, I guess that's why I like these stories so much, my road to loving Sam (cause clearly Dean already has my soul) has been a long hard still-work-in-progress battle, this season helped a lot as do stories like these.

oh, yes. Dean pretty much owns my soul but Sam is slowly starting to worm his way in. They're a screwed up family for sure. Makes them all the more interesting! *bg* Thanks for the comment! yay!
