Yesterday I went to LJ's (a book store, not some anthropomorphic personification of live journal) to pick up a book I'd been meaning to get for robots_suck, and discovered they were having a 20% off Science Fiction sale. I bought a Moorecock novel and book about a vampire who falls in love with an alien that looks like Virginia Woolf. Why is this no longer ( Read more... )

Ick. I just KNEW this would be terrible. It's one of my favorite novels as well, and I think it could be a great film, but I did not have a good feeling about this. Maybe I won't even see it.

I wouldn't say I hated it, as much as there were alot of things I hated about it. I feel like it could have been re-editied into a much better movie, but then I feel that way about most movies. I did like the actor who played Jean-Baptiste quite a bit when he wasn't sniffing emphatically.

I must admit to stealing the term "exposition fairy" from the dangerous world of Harry Potter Meta.

There's a place here called "LJ's Total Man". I've been meaning to go and get my picture taken in front of it and make it into an icon.
