I know, right? How could they post an ad that was completely wrong? And honestly, no, after seeing those puppies, they had to be mixed with something besides shepherd and lab. Some of them were brindle... last I checked, neither labs nor shepherds ever come out brindle unless they're mutts. :/
Also, I had to edit that entry. I forgot to mention that the ad said it was the puppy's last day to live. D: Which it wasn't.
Frustrating, but...ext_205423October 1 2009, 14:52:52 UTC
It's surprising that they had their animals listed at all. Most shelters don't even have the time and manpower to do that, so at least they're trying to get the animals the extra exposure, even if the info was inaccurate in this case. Someone probably effed up an internal number and matched the wrong info to the wrong kennel; that's what usually happens with the shelters out in the boonies. (Polk County doesn't even have a computer, and Clayton at one point had a hard time getting their animals online too). Take Patrick to Gwinnett's shelter - they always have lab and/or sheppy mix puppies, and it's a clean, visitor-friendly facility. I was in class when he texted me last night, so I never got back in touch with him.
I did get an email when I got home about a purebred, blind (sad face) 7 week old german shepherd female that the breeder was going to kill. Idiot. She's very, very cute, but I'm not so sure he'd want a blind one...

We will definitely be checking there. The only reason why we haven't been to the Atlanta Humane Society is because of their terrifying $150 adoption fee. Do you know what the fees would be at Gwinnett?
Awww, and I asked about the blind puppy. He says he just can't provide the proper care for a blind animal. :(

Hmmm, that $150 does include all the vetting though (or it should, if they're worth $hit), so it would actually a good deal. That said, my dealings with AHS have not been experiences I'd care to repeat. I think the adoption fee at Gwinnett is $65 because they neuter them first, but they may not do that with the puppies anymore, so then it would be like $35 or something (they keep changing the policy and I can't remember what they wound up deciding as far as spay/neuter goes). You can call first and ask, if you want: (770) 339-3200.

I might expect something that sketchy from a private owner or something, but not from Animal Control :/
