Dude, age has nothing to do with it when you think about all the stuff washers and dryers can DO these days. Those funky steam-dryer things that get out all the wrinkles so you have to do less ironing? That is a gadget for the ages right there. My former roommate had a dryer that had a cabinet up above it so you could put sweaters and things that either had to hang dry or lay flat and they could STILL get the hot-air benefits of the dryer without getting tumbled all over. That was the coolest fucking thing ever.

As far as I'm concerned, major appliances these days are fun gadgets that have the added bonus of actually serving a practical purpose in the house.

Heeee.... I find that since I got the new place I do that more too, or in the housewares, or the like. I know far more about hosuewares than I think I should LOL
