Actually, I'll mention right now that the neatest thing about FFXIII to me was that the characters I found really, really annoying at the beginning were ones who grew on me because they change over the course of the game. I forget where various things happen, but between getting the reasons why people act the way they do and seeing people actually develop, I found it impossible to dislike most of the cast.
