Either the Nara period or Victorian England. I don't really know why for either. They're just the two I think of when I consider the question. Go figure.
I love the Victorian Era! Minus the suffocation from corsets and all, the fashion was amazing.. but, of course, I have less shallow reasons for liking it. It's probably the one era I can't help thinking of all the time. I also enjoy reading about the Middle Ages.. It was such a romantic period!
The only thing that puts me off the Middle ages was the entire medicine part. If something went wrong, you really were kind of screwed. I think Jyou is beginning to rub off on me. XD
Hey, the fashion is a perfectly good reason for liking it. We're entitled to be shallow every now and then! But yeah, it's just an interesting period, isn't it?
Oh, yes, I was thinking about that too! It was the time of faith, wasn't it? There was lots of writing, but that didn't exactly help health and all.. In ways the people were completely ignorant! (At least he's rubbing off on you in a good way!)
Mm-hmmm, it's very interesting! I think I have a few books on it that you might like to read.. Are you into historical fiction? ♥
The Victorian era has always seemed so romantic to me, I don't know why!
And by the way, Miss Sora, I hope you don't mind me stopping by... I'm Mina Raksha, from India. Daisuke has told me much about you. I'd love to talk some day, if that's okay...?
Oh I don't mind at all! It's great to be talking to Chosen all round the world. =D Ah. I hope it's all good things you've heard? *fear* Haha. YES. We must have a chat. <3
It does seem quite romantic but, thinking on it, I think it's probably got a bit to do with all the progress that happened in both of those eras. And books. Lots of involvement in writing. ^_^ And fashion, of course. <3
It really is amazing how many of us there are now, isn't it? As a matter of fact, it has been good things. Daisuke tells me I should be in touch with you because you're such a great tennis player. I love it myself! :) I would love to meet with you sometime. Perhaps for tea and tennis?
Mm, that is a very good point. I adore the fashion from that era myself, even if I don't know much about fashion. I do hope to get out shopping in Japan, I hear the shopping there is fantastic. <3
The Victorian Era in europe is certainly a fascinating period of history in that part of the world. Not too sure about the class divides and corsets, but it does seems like it was quite refined.
As per Japan though, gotta say the Edo period for myself.
Anyways it's nice to see you back around again Sora-san ^^. You take care ok? Love miya xx
Mm, I was umming and ahhing about it but Man'yōshū kind of ended up trumping everything. Plus if I'm dumped near the end of it, I can overrun into the Heian period. ;D Sneaky, eh?
The age of progress. That's what my lecturer keeps calling the Victorian period. But she's really into steampunk and lolita, so it's not surprising. Gotta love progress, right?
It's nice to be back around. You. Need to come over for ice cream and films soon. Okay?
Still sounds good to me ^^. I might have a slight bias for the Edo period though XP.
Yeah, speaking to my British friends it was a time in their history when the whole progress thing kicked into high gear, though apparently Queen Victoria herself was a little bt stuffy *shrugs*.
I shall indeed come around for movies and ice cream at some point ^^. We really do need to catch up properly don't we?
