You know what word I hate?  Like more than anything else in the world?

Juxtapose.

And all its other goddamn forms.  It is the type of word you see ridiculously reused over and over by people who try to sound smart.  Want a perfect score for diction on your essay? Use that word!  Guaranteed!

I took a couple classes in Jewish history. The professor that taught them used to talk about sects. So as he was talking, he would casually write the word 'sects' on the chalk board.
