No, I'm not actually Japanese - I'm very much of European descent, but the nickname was picked years ago and kinda stuck. I'm guessing by your profile location that you found me looking through the TUDelft LJ list? Are you Dutch or just studying there? I was only there for one (much too short) semester. I wish I could've done my whole degree there, since the Aero course there is sooooo much better than the one I'm doing here, but that's life I guess. :/ What year are you in?
3rd year now but i'm sort of behind so i'm not doing any 3rd year classes. Btw, if you were here in 2008 i think we might have sat the same lectures?
Anyway, yeah i'm Dutch and i'm doing aerospace engineering because i want to do something with earth observation. I'm hoping to do a earthsciences major after this one. I didn't go for that one at first because it seemed to me that i wouldn't be learning enough practical skills. so yeah :P
Ahhh, yeah, technically I'm 4th year (though I started this course in 2003, lol)...but I still have to resit some 3rd year exams :/ I only went to one actual class while I was in Delft (Structural Design and Optimisation II - I had to make up for the advanced structures I was going to miss here in Feb-June and that seemed closest), since the main reason for going on the exchange was to participate in the Design Synthesis Exercise.
Nice~ I have to say, going to TUDelft really reignited my interest in the space side of things. I started this course wanting to get into the space industry, but I kind of lost it a bit when I did an awesome internship at Airbus in 2006. Delft has such a push on space stuff, though (unlike here, where we have only 1 or 2 space-y subjects). So now I'm going to be doing a thesis on Orbital Mechanics. Assuming I can ever pass Propulsion. Ugh.
I have it because I used to be really into Digimon, and it's the first name of one of the characters and last name of another character from that series. XD
