They are selling slimline PS2s for $166 at work until Wednesday. God, it's SO tempting....so very very tempting (and I think I'd get my 10% staff discount on top of that, too). But...with my BDay coming up on Thursday is it a bit excessive to be buying that when I'll already be getting presents that will hopefully include the KH Manga boxset and ( Read more... )

Hehe, well...I already have a GCN, that I don't play as often as I'd like. Part of my hesitation is actually due to my parents. I'm fairly sure they will shake their heads in dismay at such a purchase. I know - I'm nearly 22 and it shouldn't matter...and it doesn't really, but yeah, I dunno I think I'm a bit of a suck-up at times and I don't like them disapproving. Though, they would probably like it more if it was the Birthday/Xmas money I used to buy it instead of money I'd saved.

I spent ages staring at the games section after work today. We have a crap selection of games for PS2, though...which is dumb considering that there's an entire aisle devoted to PS2 games. (And by crap I mean: no Squeenix games >.>;;)

If you know you're not going to have time to play it much, then don't buy it ^_^;; Save your money and buy a memory card, then go play at your friends' places. XD Like whenever I want to play a console game I call a friend and ask if I can come over. :D

At least you have a GCN, though. My parents thoroughly disapprove of any console. I have a GBA SP that a friend gave me as a birthday present (he had two), and I'm going to buy a DS Lite if I can find an EB with a black one, but I'm not allowed a real plug-into-TV console. :D

I spend ages just starting at games sections. ^_^
