Read the down near the end, about the very specific state law, and then tell me, what century are Floridians living in? I guess I shouldn't expect better from a state that keeps electing Jeb Bush.

My freshman year of high school (class of 03, I think, so maybe... 1998 or 9 or something? Not so good with the maths, me) we had a GSA group, but only in secret. The teacher who ran it cautioned us constantly, "This isn't sanctioned, please be careful who you tell, my job is on the line." A year or two later a legitimate, school-sanctioned GSA was formed, but still, it was wierd. Cool of that first teacher, though.

You were class of '03? I can't process that number as a graduation year. Just...no.
I could see that teacher getting in more trouble for holding secret meetings than if he/she had tried to have them publicly. It's one thing to try to start a GSA and fail and get fired, it's another thing to have someone claim that a teacher is talking to underage kids about sex and keeping it a secret -- seems like that could land the teacher in jail, not just out of work. Very scary, and he/she had a lot of guts to help you out like that.
