Garden club plant sale today. I don’t help with set-up because that’s in the morning (!!), but I help with packing up at the end and sometimes try to answer customers’ questions, even though I don’t know very much. So I’m out there, among all the little pots and flats, with “Bittersweet” running nonstop in my head. The afternoon went something

it's easy to keep track of, rather than having to remember what other places I posted it in.

That's the only reason I could think of for posting to, say, pointed_epigram AND my own lj.

i always post my fics on my LJ too (obviously) but sometimes won't on a community, usually if it's old. (ex: sometime in the next couple days i'm going to post one on my LJ but not in pointed_epigram, because it's been posted elsewheres before and i'm shy). keeping them on my LJ yeah, helps me keep track of them. i've lost lots of fics i liked a lot to computer upgrades and in some cases had to track them down through random archives and some have just disappeared into the great unknown, which is extremely depressing. if you're worried about your flist... there's the all-healing lj-cut. but i want to see your longer stuff!

Maybe I'll post stuff at my own lj too, then. And I guess I need to start putting a "fandom" description in the headers. And BTW, I didn't read your "Libertines" fics because I've never even heard of that. What is it, a movie? Book? TV Show? Cast of "Les Miserables"?

libertines mmm... no they're a band. they broke up last year. story: these two guys, pete & carl, become best friends and live together in random squats. carl teaches pete to play guitar, they write poetry together, start a band. the band gets hugely famous and carl and pete start to have a falling out, largely over pete's escalating drug use. pete robs carl's apartment, goes to jail for a while. carl greets him with open arms, and pete goes off to treatment in thailand, where he lasts for 3 days and then comes back home. carl tells him the band is through until he gets clean, which totally kicks off a war. now pete is dating kate moss, but all sorts of slashy stuff remains. they always had really homoerotic stage shows, kissing and grinding--but my god drama! i don't have cable, so i have to keep up on pete doherty's latest antics--it's just as good. they're a good band too. sound like the clash.
