I have gone about this all the wrong end up, but to return to kind of the start, I thought this person described the situation fairly well:

So like, I have an embarrassing story to tell about Travis Fimmel (who is not the important part of Athelnar, I know). He used to be a model for Calvin Klein AND the GAP, and one of his posters was in a GAP store...so I stole it.

... TELL NO ONE. And then, after all those years, he pops up again, and he's as beautiful as ever. So I watched Vikings for Travis, but fell in love with George.

Let's face it, this is all reasonably embarrassing. Stealing posters? My undying passion for Young Sherlock Holmes when I was 13 (and dragged my friends to it week after week in the pretence that I'd never seen it before and had heard it was good)? Buying a RICK ASTLEY fan magazine when I was an intellectually competent 16 year old? Somewhere in my vaults there are dozens of pencil drawings of Robert Smith in my adoring hand.

But if I lived alone, and no one ever visited my house, I might have a Travis Fimmel poster on the wall too.
