well dear, as you know (or not, idk) i was heavily based in lj before i became enthralled with tumblr, so i could help you out with most things you need to know. just not really sure what there is to teach without you first asking, i guess. if there's anything that confuses you especially, though, let me know and i'll try to help (:
it's called a "cut" on livejournal, a name i much rather prefer since the tumblr ones don't really have a name anyway. if you're using the rich text editor, then there's a button which looks like 3 horizontal lines above a zigzag.
highlight the text you want to be hidden (e.g. the fic) and click on that cut button. after you've given it a title and whatever, the text you've highlighted should be behind a grey box.
there's a code you can use in the HTML editor if you'd like that, too. it's quite simple.
the good thing about livejournal cuts compared to tumblr cuts is that you can hide a big bunch of text beneath one, and then have more text revealed after it? if that makes sense. if it doesn't make sense, forget it. i don't want to confuse you.
