You have a lovely home! Those floors are simply gorgeous. And I really like your window treatments, the interesting, natural texture adds so much to the room. I have no skill at home decor at all, so I always admire people who can put together such attractive spaces. (Is there a story behind the cool sculpture?)
Thank you so much! It really is a very calming, restful space. As for the Buddha statue, that is one my mom had for a while that I had coveted greatly, so when she started downsizing and getting rid of things, I staked my claim.
With the gold leaf that's still remaining on him, he looks absolutely gorgeous when the sun comes in from the windows opposite.
Such a pretty, serene spot. I confess, the upholstery makes me happy. The chair we have of my dad's that he had reupholstered in cream-colored naugahyde (So Many poor little naugas!) was orignally covered in red/green/grey awning striped silk, with green moss fringe at the seams, and green bullion fringe along the bottom. Your chairs have similar lines, and the fabric, though fresh and modern, is reminiscent enough to make me smile.
And of course, the accessorizing cats just *make* that room!

And yes, there is almost always a cat in that perch.
