It's July 15th, a (relatively) warm and sunny day on Arcadia, perfect weather for boarding students and staff alike to move into their dorms

Miwako had brought her luggage with her on the plane. There wasn't much; a few changes of clothing, a few books she hadn't read. Not much else. Unpacking was going to be easy.
As soon as she stepped into the room, she noticed that there were two beds. Oh. This was going to be fun.
Nanoha smiled as she walked over to the room next door, seeing a girl coming into it with little luggage. She moved over to the door, and knocked on it to let the other woman know that she was here.
"Hi," she began, smiling. "I'm Nanoha, your next door neighbor. I don't think I've seen you here before, are you new?"
Miwako jumped when she heard the knock on the door. She tried not to look too nervous or apprehensive when she responded.
"Um-- y-yes, I just... enrolled here, this semester," she replied. Her English was good, but her Japanese accent was very distinctive. "N-nice to meet you, Nanoha..."
Nanoha smiled a bit, even though she noticed that the other girl was a bit nervous. After all, things were difficult enough at a new school without being nervous about it. "I'm glad to see that you decided to transfer here. It's really a wonderful school. Do you need any help getting settled in?"
Bill props the door to his room open with a cardboard box before heading down to his car to unload more of his things. Clothes hastily stuffed into bags are tossed carelessly on the floor, but he takes the time to hook his desktop up and make sure it's working.
Once he's finished (well, mostly-- actually putting the clothes away could wait) he pops his head out into the hallway, wondering if anyone needs any help. Last year several other teachers asked for assistance in configuring their computers and connecting them to the network; he wouldn't be surprised if this is the case this year as well.
There's a new teacher in town, and she's carrying a somewhat precarious stack of three boxes down the hallway towards room S105, one room down from Bill on the same side of the hall. Making the balance of the stack even worse is the fact that Midori can't see past the boxes without tilting her head to one way or the other, and the fact that she's not sure exactly where she's going since she decided to bring them up from the taxi all in one fell swoop rather than one at a time.
She also hasn't noticed Bill's head popped out of the doorway into the hall yet and she's headed right that way with no sign of stopping.
Sorry for the delay, had my filters set up wrong. 17yearoldJuly 23 2011, 10:55:53 UTC
"Oh, this? It's nothing!" Midori replies cheerfully enough, as she manages to tilt the stack so that the top box narrowly avoids falling. "Though...have you seen room S105 around here?" She turns, trying to get a look at the door number of the room that this guy just came out of.
Nanoha smiled, moving back and looking over at her room. At least, her side of the room, her roommate wasn't here yet, after all. The bed just had normal blue sheets, nothing fancy. Her laptop and SophiaTab were both on her desk, booted off for the moment, and in the corner between her desk and was a small bookshelf, holding a couple of books, mostly just fantasy, sci-fi, and romance stuff. She would've put her textbooks there but well, the shelf was small, and those books were pretty big and too tall to go on the small thing

A girl with magenta pigtails was dragging two heavy suitcases down the floor by the handles, walking backwards to pull them along. She bumped into the edge of the door, let out an "Owww..." and craned her neck around to check the number on the door before trying again. This time, seeing a little of where she was going, she managed to get herself through the door and her suitcases halfway through before dropping the handles and flopping backwards onto the floor.
Wow. That was definitely hard to miss. Nanoha got off of the bed, moving over to kneel by the girl who definitely looked to be a bit younger than her. "Need some help?" she asked, looking down at the other girl's face before holding out her hand.
Well, this definitely looked like it was going to be an interesting year.
"Mmmnnn..." She took Nanoha's hand and pulled herself up with a sigh. "My stuff is really heavy, and I kind of got lost on the way, too. What's your name?"

"Excuse me, ma'am, d'you need some help?" He edges gingerly around her, trying not to get in her way and trip her.
