Ah- you've posted publicly at last and I'm on my lunch break, so time to reply....!

You were asking about me a while back when we met on someone else's blog (can't remember exactly where) and I wasn't sure if you realised I'd friended you so you could take a peak at my blog if you like (it's f-locked for reasons that might become apparent)

However- feel free and welcome :o)

Hi! :) It was in Becky's journal, I believe.

I think I might have missed it, but as a general rule I tend not to friend people I don't know very well on LJ; I like to get to know people better before I do that. I think I remember looking at your journal at the time, and I remember thinking I'd love to get to know you better. but you didn't reply to my reply in Becky's journal so I wasn't sure.

Are you on any IM services? I'd love to chat. :D

In the meantime, most of my locked LJ entries are public on my Dreamwidth journal: http://sophie.dreamwidth.org/ , if you're interested.

You're absolutely right! Just had a quick look back. I did respond, but for some reason it got shunted to the bottom of the page. Very odd :oZ

I don't do IM but I'm also on DW under the same title- cmcmck

Well, the argument FOR these things is that the giver can also purchase a gift certificate for the recipient to supplement the $10, but...

Honestly? To me, that's a needless PITA for the recipient. Gifts in their purest form don't require the recipient to do ANYTHING to enjoy them. And while gift certificates do require that the recipient go to the store to redeem them, at least they can use them on generally ANYTHING they want from that store. These coupons not only requires that the recipient go to the Gift Shop to redeem them, but they can't be used on anything other than a Paid Account. That's the suckiest thing about this whole thing, IMHO.

Another nail in the coffin. Livejournal is running scared.
