The post is f-locked.

Anyway, someone posted asking if there were any Sherlock/Irene shippers and what people thought about Sherlock/Irene.

The conversation was pleasant until timeladyshayde shows up and goes on and on about "rabid slash fans" invading "pretty much every fandom going ( Read more... )

IT'S ALL THE SLASH FANS' FAULTS. ALWAYS. /sarcasm I'm kind of amused it turned into a discussion about ghost hunting, to be honest.

That was funny (although I don't know why timeladyshayde had to add that she reads dictionaries in her spare time.)

The ghost hunting was amusing.

*Sarcasm Alert*
Oh the poor het fans. Always being bombarded with the slash and femslash. The horror! How dare they have to look at slash and femslash and have their pure fandoms corrupted.
*End of Sarcasm Alert*

I really hope that Gatiss and Moffat don't make Irene Adler a love interest. We've already seen that done numerous times in other adaptations. I would rather Irene was a kickass character in her own right without being reduced to just a love interest for Sherlock.

Maybe this has been going on longer than I realized, but I don't care for this trend to get down on slashers.

It's stunning to me that slash is now so widely accepted. There was a time that slash zines could not be sold at general fan cons, or they had to be sold under the table or out of peoples' con hotel rooms. This is just the last gasp of the idiots.

This is true. I almost miss the excitement of purchasing 'forbidden fanfic' out of hotel rooms at cons.

Oh, slashophobes, they're so much fun. Being both a slash and het writer, I cannot tell you how dumb they sound. Well, actually, I just did. lol

Update:
"It's not that I don't feel there isn't a place for slash in the Holmes fandom, it's more that I am frustrated by the selective myopia of some slash fans.".

ALRIGHTY THEN.

Which contradicts her earlier statement of "How dare there be slash in my fandoms!"

I'm shocked more people haven't called her out on her contradictory bullshit.

I would, but I'm really not one for confrontation.

IDIOCY ALERT:
I'm a "rabid slash fan," and I make it my business to invade het comms and get all slashy on their asses because...well, I'm just pissy. And I need to ruin everything that is sacred, pure and good about fandom. MWUHAHAHAHA.
END OF IDIOCY ALERT.

Besides, doesn't everybody know that Irene Adler was having major femslash with Holmes's housekeeper? She was a hot old broad.
