Anticipation for a winner

EUROVISION!!

The only similarities Australia has with Europe
is that people with bad English listening skills
mistakes us for Austria.

I love Eurovision and the most memorable win
for me was Lordi's hard rock hallelujah in '06.
The excessive latex costumes was delightful.

Watching the rehearsals on youtube has got
me pumping for the semi-finals.

^^ Turkey's song is quite nice too! My eyes were glued to their guitarist with long hair : D my weak spot.

Do you have a favorite to win? :)

not yet, going to check today semifinals songs since I haven´t listen to all of them^^
Greece had a very unusual song and passed (but I´m sure it´s not a winner)so it´s going to be interesting to see how all this voting will work in the end^^

I thought it was so odd that Blue was entering...

I didn't even know the group was back together from their hiatus/split.

XD Oh gosh, Jedward is...just the words "awkward teenagers" come into mind.

It's funny because they are more of a "novelty" by-product.

It's interesting how there's no strong "prelude" competition within each country, just to make sure most of the acts...are to a standard, that the majority of the country supports? Unless, it happens I'm not too sure how they get selected.

Any favorites yet? There's several cuties this year.

I just hope if they fall out from the spotlight...they don't both fall hard. X(

ha ha ha I can't stand the French one I'm sure they're doing on purpose it's like every year they make participate singers who has zero chance to win....
seems like French are too proud and ALWAYS sings sad-slow-boring songs (except last year's)
(I'm French -_-")

Rock Hallelujah was so great ! xD I loved Ruslana (some years ago she won)

I like Armenian singers except the one from this year I love folkloric songs mixed with modern tones, rock, electro/dance ^^

I looks like a hardcore Eurovision lover...>.> am not I swear ;3

The French come up with very "artistic" stuff...that involves borderline Opera haha. It feels to cultural! But at least this year the singer is a cutie.

The Greek singer is a cutie too, but I don't like the rapping part of their song.

It is kind of Cheesy. How do you guys in France select the group/solo to enter Eurovision, I'm sure it has to go through public selection first?

ha ha ha very artistic *sobs* and not very commercial a song that a large category of people will like
they have a policy it's to sing in French so this year they try something new with one of the regional language lol
Apparently we don't choose our candidates (I didn't know that) it's a jury but not the peoples unlike other counties
the French singer won against Shy'm (a woman) I'm sure if people had the choice she would have won

*_* Blue will represent UK ? :3 isn't this a bouquet of cuties ??

Hungary's song is great I like the Slovenian too

^^ Haha, That's very nice to meet you from Hungary :D

:) I'll cheer for her too. I think she's a very gorgeous woman and a powerful singer, especially when she's not singing in her mother tongue.

Alice completely kills her partner singer her voice is very powerful.

XD I am a big Abba fan - I was born completely in the wrong era.

:D He is very cute, I hope he sings just as well for his sake, considering he had a ticket straight for the finals! He had to be pretty good :D

Did you hear about the Iceland ground? Originally an artist called Sjonny wrote and was going to sing the song they performed but he passed away just weeks before Eurovision. So his wife asked his friends to sing for him instead. The song they sang was nice but just the sentimental value behind it makes me want to cheer for them too!

It's not because we are there with money that we win ahaha xD

But the votes are only political --' Each countries often vote for the countries next to them or the ones which they are business linked with.
