Is it possible that it's been three days since I updated? I swear I have been on here every day since then commenting and reading, but I guess I just never felt like I had the time to update ( Read more... )

Ooh. I must put that on my list, maybe vet it for my mom, who likes books about doctors.

I'm exactly the same in terms of reading/commenting versus posting.

I am very faithful about reading everyone's posts but terrible about commenting. I always think my comments and end up getting distracted by the kids and then not posting.

I love the idea of reading fifty books and for me, I think it's pretty doable. By "o" fortnight I had read 31 books last year and I am sure I read quite a few more in the second half of the year.

Your post inspired me to start a list of books this year. Thanks.

I was inspired by others to start a book list this year. Not just by that challenge group. I did a horrible job last year tracking what I read or sticking to a plan to read more.

There's no way I could do 50 books in a year (at my current level), but I think 20 to 30 might be a better target.

Keep us posted on the list.

I'm glad you liked it. It was hard for me to be really enthusiastic about...to me it was a bit dry...even if I was in nursing, and know what he's talking about! Perhaps that's why? It was all old hat to me? *wonders*

I think I enjoyed the characters more than I did the medical lingo etc. Yes, in that way it did seem dry. Especially the inclusion of a glossary at the end of the novel.

Twenty six books! sagman January 8 2007, 00:28:01 UTC
I don't think that I've read 26 books in the last five years. I am not counting work related books, which I read all the time.

I think that is the problem. I read so much for work that I don't read for pleasure :(

Geez, and here I thought you read more than me in general. Maybe that was before you had a more challenging job.

I don't read all that much anymore either, that's why I am trying to challenge myself more. There is so much I want to read and I need to find the time to sample some of it. That and I need to justify my book buying habits.

I'm a binge reader. I will read for or five books in a week then I won't read anything for a couple of months. I do read for pleasure, but it tends to be magazines, Pyschology Today (just to confirm my suspions that I am crazy), Popular Imaging and Photography so I can drool over the cameras I can't afford, and then National Geopgraphic so I can see all the great places I will never get a chance to go to.

Maybe I'll sign up for the Challenge. I just finished FIGHT CLUB. I'll send it to you so you can bg Rebecca. It is funnier than the movie, and it is only about 200 pages.
