The most revolting thing I've seen in a while

I grew up liking both meat and processed foods, but I don't think anyone could've gotten me to eat this. It looks like intestinal worms, haha.

Meat spaghetti... anonymous August 7 2008, 22:56:32 UTC
You know, it does look like meat -- after it's been processed through my intestines.

Haha me too. I think these scientists will utterly fail to get even meat-loving children to eat this crap.

That is so wrong on so many levels!

Changing the composition of meat? Into ... what I wonder?

And is it just me, or is the idea of a kid who won't eat meat a little odd? Maybe it was when I grew up. We loved meat! Hated vegetables!

Looks like chitlins to me ... won't eat them, either!

It is a little odd... but I've definitely heard of it before. For the most part, it's not all meats that kids object to, but certain ones. Like Spam and vienna sausages and stuff like that. Had my parents only fed me that stuff, I would have "hated meat" too. Or a lot of them object to it if there are bones, visible cartilage, etc.

I have also heard of kids rejecting all meats - a few of the people in my vegan LJ communities were like that as kids. I think that's rarer though.

But yeah, it's really ridiculous to promote processed meat product as a health food that kids won't eat. o.O

I wonder if kids don't like veggies because of how people fix them. My brother and I grew up hating veggies, but my parents would only feed us veggies straight from a can. Anything else was considered too expensive/too much effort. And then when I went to college I discovered that veggies could taste good if fixed properly. My brother still "hates veggies," but he'll eat them if I fix them. So I wonder...

Haha, I was thinking the same thing - I don't want to look at it either ;P (although I'm not in a restaurant or eating meat right now :-P )

Haha, I'll fill you in then. "Meat scientists" have decided that kids don't eat enough meat, so since kids like spaghetti, they made strips of spaghetti out of meat. For some reason, they also colored this processed meat product green and yellow (why???). So now parents can sneak more meat into their kids' diet.
