I liked the detail of the KIND Act. Definitely fits with the IRL pattern of bills being named some nice thing that means the opposite of their actual content.
The ending gave me hope. I really hope something happens and Tara gets out.
It's similar to things I fear too, heh. I'm trying to skirt the lines between dystopia and realism, so drawing inspiration from current trends is one of the easiest ways to do so. (Plus I really hate that misleading doublespeak of legalese and reframing issues... makes me grr!) And, well, Tara's not as hopeless anymore and it seems some people are working in the interest of the captives! So, we shall see!
Love that you continued this story! The idea that a corporation could have jurisdiction is all too frighteningly plausible, too. Totally gripping and great action in a tiny space - I hope to read more!
