It had been a long, taxing day of the sort that leaves any typical person feeling completely drained, both physically and mentally. Though Edgeworth was of the opinion that he was far from what one would call a ‘typical person,’ even he was not immune to the suffering that resulted from such a day. His back hurt from the hours he’d spent hunched over piles of paperwork - apparently even those who maintained the best posture couldn’t avoid aches and pains every now and then. He’d had meeting after meeting with potential sponsors over the course of the day, during which he’d made the same presentation over and over again, so many times that by the end of the day his words had lost all meaning to his fatigued mind. Once the meetings were over, he’d met with the institute’s board of directors to outline the projected budget that would be needed to further the investigation into the recent sightings of unknown pokemon, and to report which of Veilstone’s leading investors had agreed to sign on to support their funding. All it really took for Phoenix was just one single look around the place to tell him that Veilstone hadn't changed in the slightest from the last time he had been here. It was pretty much his one place to go to for his food and lodgings, since he was still technically a trainer - even if he never really practice his licence anymore aside from... well. Getting his free food and lodgings. He was more of a researcher now after all even if he wasn't exactly... doing the whole research thing in the researcher gig. Still, it was more than enough for him since he didn't exactly have anything on him aside from his wallet and Pokéballs. And some spare bits of food too, if he had the chance to get some. But otherwise it'd be simply just him and his team wandering around the world with nothing much to do. Nothing much besides going about on those strange rumours of ( ... )

Considering how utterly exhausted he’d been, Edgeworth was surprised to find that, once they’d been walking for a few minutes, he’d begun to feel significantly better. Oh, he was still worn out, to be sure - but his mind was gradually stirring back into some semblance of alertness, and thinking back on his day’s findings didn’t have quite the same numbing effect it had had on him an hour earlier. (The hot tea probably helped with that a great deal ( ... )

Jabberwocky was tricky little devil when he wanted to be, really - such as now, as the Sableye weaved through the crowds with expert ease due to his small size. Phoenix however wasn't as lucky as him and had to stumble a bit along with his team following him as they had to push and shove through the crowds, mumbles and shouts of apologies following along with his actions. The ghost/dark hybrid didn't turn back to look at him as he went around the crowd, much more focused in trying to go about the humans without getting stepped on - even if he was a ghost, getting stepped on was hardly the most happy experience to be ( ... )
