My New Years have been varied over the years. After 6 mad ones in Edinburgh when everyone used to come and stay with me, all the rest seem pretty limp :-) I'm happy to sit at home on my own, or with family and friends, have a couple of drinks (I only really drink at Christmas, New Year and my birthday), watch a movie or play games and see the New Year in with Jools Holland :-) I used to try phoning my sons (and they me) but it's impossible to get through. I always text family and friends just before the midnight rush :-)
Happy New Year, I hope 2010 is a perfect year for you :-)
We don't call anyone. Sometimes we get a call from my nephew. We usually stay home, as we're doing this year, and yes, we watch the ball drop. We're always grateful that we're not standing in Times Square for hours and hours (I still wonder about bathrooms, but that's another story) freezing just to be crazy with everyone else. I like being snuggled up at home watching the insanity on TV and ringing in the new year with the one I love.
Thank you! And a Happy New Year to you as well. :)
Erin will be one of the people who is standing in amongst thousands, in a big city, waiting for midnight, and I did text her to make sure she went to the bathroom before she left her flat - so I laughed when I saw your comment!
Happy new year! I don't normally do anything special (don't always stay up) but it was my first new year with my new sweetie so it was very special. He didn't want to go anywhere like a pub or club for midnight because "they're full of amateurs" so we went out earlier in the evening then went back to his for a private party.
