I miss Google Chrome, which is currently only available for Windows. The good news is that a Mac version should be out sometime this summer. It's the fastest browser out there right now, especially with JavaScript parsing and rendering. And its unified, auto-completing address and search bar is significantly more awesome than the Awesome Bar ( Read more... )

Yeah, for analysis. But all data begins life in a spreadsheet.

I use SAS for analysis, and maybe I can just merge it all in SAS.

SPSS is now PASW, as of a few weeks ago. It's stupid. Predictive Analytics SoftWare.

I could be misremembering, but I thought the software we used in my lab (SAS and SPSS) could handle more columns than excel. R can be cool, but has a steeper learning curve (you'd probably be fine, but it's not something to give undergrad RAs lightly).
