...Praise the Lord. A miracle has occurred. It took me most of the day to comprehend the significance of what happened to us yesterday, but the door of my heart has been opened and my sight has cleared. All of Central has been blessed... we were all filled with the Holy Spirit! Alleluia ( Read more... )

*grins widely, flipping open her Bible to Acts, Chapter 2, and reading aloud*

"And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?"

*grins wider* It's a sign from God, Mal!

Pentewhat? *isn't sure he's getting the context of all of this but he knows from his brother that it's better not to interfere when people get this way about religion* That's really great, Clara. *thinks that he couldn't hear her in the tongue wherein he was born but that's probably because he is not Catholic*

So what does that mean, exactly? I mean, the fact that it happened?

Pentecost. That's... well, that's what I just read you. That was Pentecost. *seems to be completely oblivious that he's not as excited as she is* I know! Isn't it?! It's amazing!

Well, all I know is that it means that we were all filled and imbued with the power of the Holy Spirit. It's a sort of baptism of the spirit. I... perhaps we have all been cleansed of sin! I don't really know! I want to talk to Father Thomas.... That could be all there is to it, but it could also be a sign of things to come. *giddy*
