I hope that you can get to the point where you're not picking up every germ that walks by . . . but I'm glad to hear that you have (in general) a "new normal" where your pain is reduced, when you're not sick/flaring!
Well, I've now gotten up to just about 6 weeks without getting sick, so I think the new handwashing protocol may be doing the trick. I'll just have to try to convince all my relatives to be paranoid about handwashing when we all get together next month, I guess!
We're switching over to using the dishwasher until then, because I don't want to get sick and/or flare badly enough that I can't go. We don't usually use it because we just don't have that many dishes - a total of 8 dinner-size plates altogether, around the same in bowls of different sizes and cups, and of course we only use 2 at a time most of the time. But if it reduces my chances of getting sick between now and then, it'll be worth it.
Ugh, I'll have to get my immediate family to do that this weekend, too - I'm visiting them, because my sister and nephew are moving across the country some time in August.
