That first week truly sucks. I recently bought a jogging stroller and I've been running a few times a week with Max. Technically I have been doing it for two weeks, but it still feels like the first day. Of course I know it will eventually get easier, but damn.

How goes the jogging with Max? I've slacked off a bit lately (just walking) and feel kinda sluggish. I got back on the workout last night and it kicked my butt.

I've been walking more than running too. My joints don't love the running. I'll probably keep walking with Max while the weather holds, and then I'll move indoors and start hitting the treadmill. Seems to be much less stressful than pounding pavement.

I had a discussion with my doctor and she said that while most women think turning 30 or 40 is bad, its really somewhere around 35 where your metabolism slows down and your muscle mass is decreasing, so eating the same things and doing the same activity will have you gaining weight.

I am in the process of figuring out a work out. I have hated it all my life and trying to find the fun in it. I don't like the trend of porking out again, so working out has gotta be done.

Oh, hear, hear.

I've been doing the 1-3 lbs a year for literally years now. I don't ever dramatically gain, but gain none the less.

So I'm definitely trying to kick start something. As I shared with another of my friends, I think my head is finally ready to get my body in shape. I WANT to do it now. I still refuse to get food freaky and never have another pepsi, but I've cut way back and want to use exercise instead. The best thing I've found so far is to walk when weather permits (at work and the dogs), and throw in 2-4 DVD workouts. The walking is much easier to make myself do. The dogs go CRAZY, so I know they love it too. The DVDs kick my ass. I picked up a bunch of theFirm off of half.com on the cheap and am just mixing and matching. I like them because they mix weights with cardio on most of them - so you really get a good workout.

I kinda wish I'd have bought their box rather than picking one up locally, but what I have works. If I can stick with it, I might buy their latest generation since I didnt see any of ( ... )
