One of the things that Sam can do with his magic is scrying. This means that he can search out a specific person from where ever. However it may affect people differently depending on their level of magic. Those with no magical abilities won't notice anything while he's scrying, those with some or latent abilities might feel like they're being

Will your character know about the scry and if yes to what level (just knowing or are they able to block)?:
1. No
2. No
3. Yes?, barely if at all - being a magical entity himself, he might get that "being watched" feeling, though he'll have no clue why or what it is
4. Yes, he'd sense it and likely know what it is, and be able to block by locking (or trying to lock) the person in an endless labyrinth deep in his mind (player-to-player, I'm open to whether that would work or how effectively =3)

Will your character know about the scry and if yes to what level (just knowing or are they able to block)?: Yes, he's actually rather "weak" in magic as far as his people are concerned, but he'll be able to tell. Not likely able to block or reverse it though.

However, while Joshua has a lot of latent power, his magical ability is basic at best, so he'd definitely get the 'being watched' feeling, and maybe a feeling someone is searching for him.
