Can someone give me some advice on planning an emergency flight?

I don't know if I'll be flying out tomorrow or Thursday, it just depends on the phone call I'll get later today telling me about the funeral arrangements (they're meeting w/the director today). My uncle, who basically raised me growing up bc my parents were so absent, who I called "daddy" bc I didn't even know better, who I have nearly every ( Read more... )

Pensacola to Indianapolis? What local airports are near you? Try calling and booking through them first. Sometimes they can get you a flight easier and cheaper than through the online rates. Explaining emergency situations sometimes helps, too. Not always, though. But definitely call the nearest airport to try booking directly.

Oh, honey, I am very sorry to hear this news. Be careful and take care of yourself, OK? No sense in getting yourself in a mess, too, when everything else isn't... well, good.

I'm so sorry girl. You won't fly in an 8-seater plane out of Pensacola or into Indianapolis no matter what. You could fly in a regional jet with 50 seats minimum. You will have a layover in Atlanta and no flight from there to Indy will be small. Go onto Kayak.com. If you fly out tomorrow and come back on the weekend it's $500 without any discount. I know that's a lot of money but this is an emergency. I checked the airplanes for both flights and they are Boeing-MD 88s. They seat over 100 passengers so you will be fine. Sorry to sound like a creeper but I know this is a hard time for you and I am on summer break and have plenty of time to look stuff up. You would fly Delta on this route but call them after looking at this you can get a cheaper fare you just need to get them info. http://www.delta.com/planning_reservations/special_travel_needs/bereavement/index.jsp.

I'm so sorry I hope this helps a bit!
