I got the job I applied for. I start Monday. I'm all full-timey and benefitey and stuff.

I'm still on my year off. I'm now full-time as a Programmer/Analyst, so if I come back, I won't be coming back to teach.

Darlin, once you've gone past a year, it's not "a year off" any more, and aren't you on your second? Or third?

Just say "I quit and now I'm making phat cash in computerz." And everyone still stuck with a dissertation to write will be envious.
