1. Yeah, he has one of the most captivating voices I've ever heard. It really sticks with you.
3. Agreed!
7. Oh, definitely agreed :)

I have a version of Hallelujah on the list, hehe - I'm partial tot he Rufus Wainwright version. I've not heard the k.d.lang one - I'll have to find it on YouTube!

I love Matt Nathanson - his songs are always easy to listen to, for lack of a better way to put it. "Come On Get Higher" is one of my feel-better songs, now and forever (even though it's actually kind of sad, haha).

Do enjoy! :D

Sorry to butt in, but I had to tell you how excited I am to see more Matt Nathanson fans!! I've gotten to meet him twice now, and he is just as amazing as you would hope, and his concerts are my favorites I've ever gone to. I actually have "every day is a start of something beautiful" tattooed on my shoulder b/c it was Some Mad Hope, and especially "All We Are" that got me through a really hard time last year.

Wow! That is a great list! I found some that I've already loved and some that I'd never heard of before. Can't wait to see the next installment!

Hee, glad you're liking it so far!

I will be floored if anyone was already familiar with all 100 of these. I have... somewhat eclectic tastes in music sometimes, haha.

Awesome idea for a list!

I can't believe I never heard Stan Rogers before. OMG! What a rich voice. I'll be looking for more of him, thanks for the rec.

I liked the Taylor Swift song, the harmonies were pretty.

The "floating" up and down of the Levi Kreis song is so pretty. The line that got me was "... and friends get replaced, even though it may hurt a friend's heart" and "The things that had measure don't measure up anymore"

P!ink is one of my recent faves int he last few years. I love the husky quality of her voice and she sings about stuff that I can relate to, like in this song. I don't usually watch videos because I find they lead me in interpreting the song in a way that the director/producer chose. I did go back and watch this one though and P!ink looked so pretty in theat gown at the beginning.

Being partial to acoustic guitar, I really liked the Little Victories song. I like the line, "I'll learn to get by on little victories"

[edit to add: apparently, "pretty" is my words of the day. *facepalm*]

omg OMG, stop what you're doing and look up more Stan Rogers, ahaha. He was a Canadian folk singer, and recorded several albums in his (realy pretty short) career. I recommend - well, any that you can get your hands on, but especially "From Coffee House to Concert Hall" and "Northwest Passage". The first is a live album with a lot of music on it, and the second has some of what I'd consider his greatest stuff.

That's part of what I love about that song, yeah - the harmonies are gorgeous and kind of haunting.

That Levi Kreis song kind of breaks my heart? But yeah, it's those lines for sure.

P!nk has a gorgeous, gorgeous voice that I could listen to for hours. I prefer her ballads to her other music, but it's all good :)

Hee, that's my favorite line in "Little Victories" too :)

And hey, it's a pretty word! ;D

Your #10 really really resonates with me. His CD Some Mad Hope is actually the CD that helped me through the really hard time I had last year. I have "every day is a start of something beautiful" tattooed on my shoulder because of this.
