Rachel's room is very much a declaration of her personality. Stars everywhere, pink everything, a dramatic four poster bed. There's even a vanity with makeup on it, and a hair brush and a little hand mirror. It's also very clear that she's an only child. Rachel has lots of of stuff, and all of it is nice, high quality stuff. Like, her parents only have one child they have to spend all their money on, so she could have anything she wanted. It's very different from Quinn's plain and very average bedroom. She feels suddenly insecure.
“It's very nice,” Quinn all but whispers.
Rachel is busy setting up a roll away bed like the ones you see in hotels, only nicer. The mattress looks actually comfortable, and Rachel is putting egyptian cotton sheets on, with matching blankets and their 'spare down comforter'. It looks much nicer than what Quinn's used to. For all the glamor her parents show off, very little of it is spent on their children.
“Oh, well, it's what we had around, I hope it's comfortable, I'm sorry the duvet doesn't match,” Rachel pouts at her expertly made 'cot'.
Quinn shakes her head, “I meant your room, it's nice.”
Rachel simply beams at her, “Thank you, Quinn, I wasn't sure you'd like it, it's very...me.”
Quinn shrugged, “It's nicer than my old room.”
Rachel's whole face crumples into this awkward 'I'm so sorry to remind you' expression. Quinn fidgets with the handle of her suitcase, not really sure what she should be doing.
“I'm sorry you have to sleep in here, but the guest room hasn't really been used for guests in so long it's kind of become storage. We can fix it up after school and maybe even paint in there if you want-”
“Thanks, Rachel...I know I'm not really your favorite person...and-”
Rachel held up one hand, stopping her, and just smiling.
“You'd do the same for me,” she says, so confidently that Quinn feels bad that it's not true. She'd play tag with some other Glee club member, make them take her in. She wasn't so forgiving.
