As I was driving to work this morning, I had my ipod on shuffle. Alot of songs I haven't heard in ages but used to love during a very specific time in my life (Hello 2006/7) kept coming on. I have this horrible habit of listening to songs I love over and over again (any of my former roomates can testify to the fact that it was really annoying to

and clapton did a 'live at the filmore' record with derek & the dominos, too bad duane allman didnt go on the tour with him. but thats probably my favorite era of clapton. he does 'have you ever loved a woman' from the dominos record and it blazes.
also, colin blunstone is one of my favorite singers. zombies wrote some great songs, rod argent? one of my favorite songs, probalby would make a comparable list, would be 'this will be our year', been playing that song for people and at shows for years and years now.
one time somebody told me that george harrison said in the 70s that if the beatles had stayed together they were headed ina direction similar to the direction ELO took. which is brilliant, i love ELO. 'telephone line' ! very underrated songwriter, jeff lynne?

Speaking of the Filmore, I am going to a concert there on Friday with a new friend. I don't absolutely love the band that's playing (The Mountain Goats,) but I've been dying to go to a show at that legendary venue!
Rod, you and Layla would totally love San Francisco. It's all laid back, everyone dressed in breathable fabrics taking lunchbreaks in nearby parks. And every band ever makes a stop here on tour. Every week, there's at least 2 bands I want to see. And can I just mention Haight and Ashbury?! Legendary.
One of my favorite drama queen songs is "The Beautiful Ones" by Prince. So amazing.
We totally have alot in common music-wise. I mean, how can it get any better than ELO? Seriously. If the Beatles had made an ELO-style album, I think it would have been the best thing that ever happened to me ever.
