Eyes hidden behind a pair of sunglasses, Clint gave her a small grin in return. It had been far too long since they'd taken the time to something. Training, practice, constantly being swarmed by their fellow teammates. Life in the tower was certainly...different. Clint wasn't sure he'd call it good, but it was different.
It was nice, relaxing even, to fall back on old habits with just the two of them.
"I figured," he replied easily, nudging her shoulder back with an easy familiarity "And however much they deserved it, we probably don't want to be down a team member."
"No, probably not," Natasha sighed in response. "Then I'd just have to curse them in the afterlife when I have more work to do next mission."
She shook her head sharply to clear her thoughts as the words left her mouth. "Sorry," she added. "I know we said no talking shop today." Tilting her head back to look up at the sky, Natasha quirked a smile. "Too nice of a day to waste on it."
As they walked, Natasha allowed herself to drift closer and closer to Clint. Neither were particularly fond of public displays of affection, but it was nice to have the solid, sturdy presence of her partner at her side for reasons other than spywork. Glancing up at him, she raised an eyebrow. "Did you have any particular plans for our fieldtrip?"
Having her drifting closer gave Clint a sort of comfort that he couldn't really get from anyone else. Not that he would even want to. Clint gave a one shouldered shrug before admitting, "I hadn't really planned anything. Just figured we could get out for a bit. Have some lunch. Whatever you'd like."
Is that was normal people did? They weren't particularly normal. Most of their outings involved some sort of mission. But every once in a while they did something like this instead. Not often, but on occasion.
Natasha rolled that around in her head as they walked, idling noting a few kids rushing along the other side of the street. "We can always start with lunch," she proposed. "Food is traditional, as I understand it, and then we'll be more free for later."
The pounding of feet neared, and Natasha forced herself to relax. She'd been jumpier than usual since her last upset, but that didn't mean she should lash out at kids. She could keep herself in control.
