For some strange reason, I can not access Google.  That means I can not access gmail and I can not sign in to gtalk.  It means I am CUT OFF FROM THE INTERNET WORLD!! *mourns*

have you tried checking the cookies? Sometimes, when websites are doing some updates (or your computer) cookies are messed up as well. That's how i couldn't open hotmail for a while.
