"One of your own!" or why I have writer's block, and hoping this will get rid of it.

I'm not the word police, but I thought it might be helpful to elaborate on feelings that might pop into a pregnant, adoptive mom's mind were you to say to her, "You get to have one of your own!" Or any version of something like that. Emotions? Confusion, annoyance, frustration, down-right anger.... "It always happens!" Oh, annoyance is a big one ( Read more... )

What to say when an adoptive parent gets pregnant: Congratulations! I'm so happy for you!

Dunno what's so hard about that :-)

Here's to having *another* one of your own! I love that line. I'm not surprised you have writer's block! There's a lot going on for you right now. I share many of your fears as we wait for Son 2 to join us here... know that you are not alone! (And I'm sorry that people have said such silly things.)

There is absolutely a set of worries for second children. It's so funny. You think you have this one, and then, no, we have new worries for you!

I am so relieved to see you FINALLY write about your pregnancy. I have been afraid to ask.
Your words ring true. People often say/write things and they really don't think it through and implications before they do so. We are all expected to take it the "right way" and "whatever...u know what I mean" and not be put-off or anything by the actual words. Its irresponsible if you ask me but then again "those people" think I am thin-skinned blah blah.

I am glad to read things are progressing well :O)

Yeah, sorry. I have learned quickly that pregnant ladies scare people almost every minute of the day. :)

The other day I slammed my finger in a door and about three people were convinced I was in labor. They turned fascinating shades of gray.

All is well. I've just been working through some of these things and needed to get them out. I'm going to try to post more. I miss it.
