Now I can tell you about my weekend...or at least, my Sunday. Pulling our boat has had some unexpected results. One thing, it turns out, or I had forgotten, that Captains can smell crew in the water quicker than sharks can smell blood

Sounds like alot of fun and very rewarding. :) What exactly is the "grinder's" job?

A grinder runs the winches (or a winch) that pull in the jib, when you tack. Pulling it in quickly is the key but if you can't get it over fast enough then you actually have to winch it in.
