❖ MOON CYCLE 06 ❂ 02/08/10 - 02/14/10
Phase: Half, waning.
Weather: The days are getting colder, with overcast skies for most of the days. Oddly enough, any large piles of snow have disappeared, leaving only a light, thin blanket. Small patches of ice could be fine on roads and sidewalks.
Effects: Glitchy Dreamberries. There isn't anything to really notice except for the occasional crackle and sudden connection drops. They don't happen often, but every once in a while. Words are also occasionally bleeped out, as if the person had gone out of range. The ghosts are also coming out to engage with the populace, there seems to be a problem. No matter what they say, no one can understand them. It was as if they were talking in a completely foreign language.
Notes: As stated in the Effects, the Dreamberry glitches aren't severe. It's somewhat similar to past "disaster" effects where the Dreamberries have failed, but it's not as bad. It's more like occasional bad reception, and it shouldn't happen often. As for the ghosts, they will be poking around the people more, but any dialogue will be represented by random symbols like the Wingdings font. If anyone visits the Ghost Shop, they won't be able to understand the ghosts there either.
❖ note about character destruction and other plot events
We just wanted to make a quick reminder about certain events that could affect the game-base, such as large fights with high damage or any large character plots that could affect other residents of Somarium even if they aren't directly related.
While we encourage players to have such gamewide plots, we also have to remind everyone that if there are any after effects that uninvolved characters might notice due to the result of an event or log, you must make some kind of OOC announcement in
somarium_ooc.
For example, if a group of character fight one another and there is noticeable damage to the area, someone will notice it some time after the fight. Or if someone has died, someone may find (or trip) over the body.
It's only for these kind of circumstances that we request players to give a quick heads up to the playerbase so everyone can be on the same page. This also allows for follow-up plots that could be connected to the original event.
There are cases where IC announcements of player-run events will work, especially if they're just for social gatherings. It's only those that may require further plotting that will need to posted into the OOC comm.
As a final note, if you do have a plot that might affect the gamebase, just let us know. We just want to make sure that whatever ends up happening doesn't go against the game mechanics that we're just aware of what's going on.
Thanks, and if you have any other questions, feel free to ask us!
