[even with the man blending in, Draco had been practically trained to be able to spot newcomers. He easily sidled up, dropping himself upon the seat beside Aya's, not wanting to intrude too much. And yet, it was his job to make conversation, and make people feel more than welcomed at the speakeasy.]
[Draco's not often intimidated. He'll take the cue to leave if given one, though. He gives a light shrug.] It's all relative, perhaps. I've had days that have only lasted an hour or three, and yet they've been the longest hours of my life.

[Martini, dry, no olive--
[Okay. Okay, those weren't hard. Not like some of those other cocktails where it was A plus B plus C plus fruit juice and a cherry and a swizzle stick and who knew what else and then you shake them all fifteen and a half times and-- those sorts of things that Ken was convinced he'd never get the hang of, Desmond's notebook or otherwise. He glanced quickly at it anyway just to check before assembling the order - this guy seemed like he knew what he wanted and that was both good (because he was definite) and bad (because what if he messed it up?!). Ken didn't think he'd messed it up, but...]
[Ken gives the man a slightly awkward smile - hey, it's a smile, right? They can't complain he's not being nice to the customers if he does that - then steps back a bit. He wonders for a moment if he should just go, but... he gives the martini glass a slightly nervous glance.]
Um, if it's no good just let me know, okay? I'm kinda new and I can do it again if it's come out funny.
[It doesn't take much time for the drink to be mixed and shaken, the transparent liquid still swirling in the delicate glass when it's pushed in front of Aya. Desmond looks at his future brother-in-law (though they still have to announce the news to the red haired man) and raises an eyebrow slowly]
Does Jessie know you're here?
[There is no underlying judgment in his voice: he's not the one to talk after all. But the young man wants to know if he'll have to evade his fiance's questions the following day]

I've had longer. [He nods when he gets his drink and takes a sip.]

Will there be anything else?

[He gave a private little smile.]
I just wanted to be able to stay and I need to purchase something to do that.

[Not that he particularly likes enforcing that.

[He tries it. It's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but it's not terrible either. So Aya smiles and takes another sip.]
Thank you.

[He sighs at that before taking a sip of his drink. It tastes good so there's that.]
She probably won't approve if she finds out though.

I think it's the lying and hiding she wouldn't approve.
[After all, she knows he works here. But the bartender knows he isn't a better position than Aya on this either.
Since the evening is pretty quiet, Desmond pours himself a glass of whiskey and stays close to Aya]
Are you here on an assignment?

[Which is a yes basically in Aya vocabulary.]
Which is why I'm not telling her.
