To anyone looking in on the apartment in Somni, no one would have suspected anything out of the ordinary at all. The apartment was surprisingly bright and cozy looking. The walls were a buttercup

It was probably still about a half hour before she would hear the sound of the lock turning and the door opening.

"Road, I'm home!" Ace's voice called out as he entered, shutting the door behind him, locking it.

He walked over to the kitchen and poked his head in, a sheepish smile on his face. "Sorry I'm late, I got a little lost getting back, haha."

It looked and appeared so beautifully normal. The elder brother coming home after work just before having a meal with his little sister. So normal-that is, until he held up a bloodied cloak and one noticed the blood splatter all over his face. And the fact that the door he had entered from was the back door leading to the small balcony. That's right, rather than coming in from the front door, that was where he had came in from. Whether it was due to his current state or if he got turned around, who knew?

"Let me wash up real quick."

Road perked up immediately, a wide grin spreading across her face. She didn't seem at all fazed at the blood or the fact that her older brother had entered the apartment through their balcony door. In fact, it seemed like she couldn't have cared less. The young girl was just happy to see her older brother back safe and sound. Nonetheless, she clicked her tongue and teased him as she abandoned her post at the stove and ran to give him a hug.

"Welcome home! When are you ever going to learn? We've lived here for a long time now."

Road took the cloak from her brother planning to wash it later. She had tried getting rid of it once before, but Ace seemed to have a fond liking of the ratty piece of fabric and she didn't have the heart to upset him. "I'll wash your cloak later. Just leave it to me. And hurry up, dinner is almost ready. Guess what it is!"

"Haha, I know," he said with his usual light chuckle as he returned the hug and let Road take his cloak. "It was a little easier this time, though."

He then crossed his arms, tapping his chin in thought. "Hm...it smells good! Is it beef stew?"

"I'd be disappointed if it weren't," she replied back untangling herself from Ace and going to place the cloak on a nearby coat rack. "Was it fun at least?"

Another happy smile spread across her face. "Your favourite! I figured that since you said this was an easy job that you could have something good to look forward to when you came home."
