Well, it seems like Somarium is still keeping up the usual pattern. Neku was walking back to his apartment with grocery's while trying to avoid the typical swarm of new people. It wasn't that he didn't like helping or understand where they're coming from, it was just...painfully redundant. Not to mention, he was still readjusting to this place after being away for a while. Well, it didn't feel like a while to him but according to Beat and Shiki, it was for at least a month, if not two. Speaking of Shiki, he made up with her only to screw it over again with that dream he had. Obviously, this world really had it out for him or it just had a twisted sense of humor. Hell, knowing this place and his luck it was probably all of the above.
With all this on his mind, plus the music that he had playing Neku didn't notice Kid until he almost collided with him. Thankfully he dodged out of the way in time but not before glaring at the back of the person who nearly knocked him out.
"Hey! Watch it!" Seriously, first a flying broom and now a
( ... )
Kid just blinked as he glanced back, bringing his skateboard around. He had been so lost in thought he had neglected to pay any attention to where he was going. It was just...that fountain....
"Sorry, I was lost in thought," he said as he hopped off Beelzebub and let it rest next to him.
But perhaps this boy-well actually he looked about the same age-could give him some answers. "But could you tell me what city this is?"
'Yeah I kinda noticed that.' Neku bit back a snarly remark at that obvious statement. The skateboard really drew his attention, it looked pretty normal for something that could freakin' fly. Then again the owner of said board looked... odd.
"... Espoir. You're new arrival, huh." Neku resisted a sigh, it really must be his crappy luck. That figured.
Mention the stripes, and Neku will think Kid more than just "odd".
"New arrival?" The words seemed rather strange, but in a way he supposed that would be true. "I've never heard of a place called Espoir, though it sounds European." He paused as he spoke in more of an undertone to himself. "Though that begs the question of how I got here..."
Kid looked back up at Neku. "Could you explain a bit more about this place? Particularly how I managed to wake up in the middle of a field and how it came to be so damaged."
Everyone was settling down again, Beat had noticed that much. If anything, it was a miracle that one thing could happen over the weekend and still go back to its normal everyday pace within a matter of days. Sure there were repairs that had been going on as well but even that seemed mundane after the attack of that Yeti. He had wanted to take part in bringing the beast down but he had promised Ty Lee that he wouldn't, much to his chagrin.
This only resulted in making him restless. He was getting stir crazy and there hadn't been anything else interesting to do since then. Even snowboarding didn't seem like a good idea just yet. And skateboarding was probably dangerous in this kind of weather conditions. Not that would've stopped him.
Especially after he had been knocked to the side by someone on what looked like the very same item he was thinking about not too long ago. Dodging cars and other vehicles to get across the street was normal but people on hovering skateboards on the sidewalk? Not so much.
Kid blinked when he felt something hit him-or rather, when he hit someone else. Immediately he hopped off his skateboard, tucking it under his arm as he approached the person he accidentally ran over.
"Ah, sorry about that. I wasn't paying attention."
Running over potential answer sources was not a good way to either make a good impression or make them willing to answer.
"You better watch where you going, yo! You lucky I ain't gonna bust you another hole for that." It was a first time thing, Beat figured he should let it slide.
One thing was for sure though, he couldn't help but stare at that board he had with him. Had it really been flying a while ago? Technically, this shouldn't have come as much of a surprise to Beat, considering how he was about to do the something back in the Game. Thing was, he had to activate Respect to accomplish something like that. By the looks of it, this guy didn't have a single pin on him. "You skate?"
At the guy's words, Kid could only twitch a bit. He was currently being reminded of a loudmouth, blue haired ninja.
"I would rather you didn't, or you would throw off my balance," he said in a cold, yet serious tone. Or at least give him two new holes. Or in the center. Not that he would want a new hole to begin with, but if he had to, he would at least like it to keep his symmetry.
But at his question, Kid just gave a glance at Beelzebub tucked under his arm. "I do. It is also my own personal preference for transportation."
Not many people really commented on his skateboarding skills-mostly because he usually used it more traveling than actual skateboard tricks. But he did enjoy the "sport".

[To go on walks is not so unusual for Break. After all, as he is continuously connected to Sharon, there is little reason to fear some reconnaissance.
Besides, with Gil gone, the task of retrieving tea has fallen to him. So it is not so peculiar that he is out and about in time to spy a kid hovering in the air on some sort of transportational device.
A smile. Oh, he does love new people.]
A curious direction of travel to pick first thing!

[Kid cast the strange man a glance. ...there was something unnerving about the man, but he couldn't pin any particular reason as to why. but beggars couldn't be choosers, so he slowed down and approached him.]
I wanted to see where this line of destruction headed. Though if you could tell me anything about it, it would be greatly appreciated.
I TRY SO HARD. ♥charientismsFebruary 6 2011, 18:35:16 UTC
[A chuckle in response, and he tilts his head, looking around.]
A curious method of describing it. A line of destruction, is it? I cannot imagine why it could not be described as a zig-zag! Or perhaps, even, a spiral.
I would much rather prefer a line. Lines are at least perfectly straight and symmetrical, and lead to a direct and efficient point to one's destination.
