*A minute or two after Roxas has seated himself, the heavy wooden door behind him creaks open. Danny slips through the gap and closes it behind him, trying distractedly to trap some lingering warmth with a hastily thrown-on coat.*

Um--hey... *Danny's eyes go from the empty air where the corridor was to the fellow kid.*

This is probably kind of crazy, but--did you just... You, uh, wouldn't happen to have seen anything weird out here just now, would you?

Yeah. It's this weird alternate-dimension thing where all the ghosts live.

So ghosts are a pretty normal thing in your world?

*Snorts in spite of himself.* Not exactly.

A few months before I left, my world still thought ghosts were all a hoax, and that my parents were wackos.

They still that, but they have to admit ghosts are pretty real. Kind of hard to ignore, what with all the attacks.

... Sounds rough, for you and that one ghost you mentioned before.

*For a split second, Danny's eyes widen and dart to Roxas. Then his shoulders relax a touch, and he looks away again, shrugging.*

It sort of is. Ghost attacks are a pain, even without all the Ghost-Drills the school was having.

[Noticing that a little bit but choosing not to comment on it]

Did you have to learn how to fight ghosts to help out?

What, in ghost drills?

No way. We have to stay quiet and sit under our desks, or walk down the halls in neat little lines. Like, you know, that'll somehow help us escape or dodge when a real ghost attack happens. *Rolls his eyes.*

... They really made you guys practice that?

[Disbelief 'cause really? That doesn't sound like it'd help at all in a real situation]

I meant by your parents. [Raised by inventors of the ghostly seems like he'd learn some things to help out, especially if they invaded as much as Danny says they do]

Oh!

Yeah. Um. *Grimace.* Technically.

They've taught me and my sister some basic stuff, but we kind of avoid it whenever we can.

... Sorry if I'm prying too much.

[He seems to be doing that a lot lately on accident, so looking a bit guilty]

No, uh. It's okay. *Looks uncomfortable as well, though it seems more out of concern for his friend. He hadn't meant to make him feel awkward.*

*Rubs the back of his neck.* It's just that--well, my parents are really weird. And kind of hazardous to go out ghost hunting with. If you go with them, chances are you'll get slimed with ghost go at least once before you get back.

That, and...

*More fidgeting. Oh, what the hell, who's going to care?* I, uh, also sort of know the ghost kid. And they hunt him, too.

[Feels...a bit better that he's not prying too much. Also noticing the more fidgeting, it was kinda hard not to but his curiosity was nagging at him.]

I see... Did you help him, the ghost?
