With the academy closed and her newest house guest completely able to take care of himself, Serenity had very little reason not to investigate. However the main reason for her attending this excursion was to remain by Kamui's side. It wasn't that she didn't care about the black ice or what lay beyond the desert, she did to some small degree. But as it always had, her concern was for those whom she loved. Admittedly that was the universe as a whole but some were dearer than others. So when she had found out about Kamui's quest into the desert she insisted on going with him. After all, very little bothered her as far as temperatures were concerned, though so far that was only towards extreme cold but she imagined the same theory applied to heat ( ... )

Kamui nodded. Unfortunately, there really wasn't anywhere proper to sit and rest except for the ground. There were in the middle of a desert, after all. So, Kamui took out a blanket from his satchel and placed on the ground. He had packed it up because the desert is usually cold at night. At least that was true in the worlds he had visited, he didn't know what to expect from Somarium's desert.

He gestured to the blanket."You can sit here."

She chuckles and has a seat. Really, it seems so odd to see her just so easily accept the seat. Her long legs fold easily enough under her and she pats the blanket beside her.

"Come, sit with me."

Kamui would have been more comfortable standing. Mostly, because he felt a bit shy around Serenity. It wasn't that he was suspicious of her. He had no doubt that she was kind-hearted through and though. He felt uneasy because of what he told her that time. He rarely spoke to anyone about that. Actually, he never spoke to anyone about those troubling things.

He gave in though, silently taking a seat next to her. Silence fell upon them again, until Kamui added in. "If you need to rest later on, I won't mind stopping."
