[It was nice enough that they could actually be out at night without freezing to death. In fact it reminded him of those nights on the beach minus the actual beach. Thankfully there wasn't a cloud in sight as he opened the door to the rooftop of their apartment. For a ( Read more... )

[The night air was cool on his skin as he pushed the heavy door to the roof open, slipping through the small space and closing it quietly, unlike the way Sora had simply let it slam. Bright green eyes searched the expanse, quickly located his friend near the edge, feet hanging over. Shaking his head, his felt the wind blow through his hair as his sneakers moved across the cement silently.

Moving towards the ledge, he followed Sora's lead, sitting near it, only instead of letting his leg's hang over it he bent them at the knee, soles of his shoes pressing into the edge of the building as he laid back, one arm coming behind him to cradle his head as he looked upwards, the clear night sky instantly greeting him.

It was comforting, even though the stars weren't the same ones they were used to. It was comforting, to know that no matter where they were, some things would never change.]

[He didn't hear the door slam or even hear the quiet footsteps but he also wasn't startled by Riku sitting down next to him. Rather he waited as his friend settled into a comfortable position before tilting his head up to look at the other.]

Hey.

[A smile was present on his lips. This moment was like so many others before it despite the changes to their surroundings and the stars. Riku and Sora had been friends since before Sora could really even remember - for a while it'd just been the two of them. Playing on the island, watching the sunset and even the stars before bed. When Kairi came they'd included her in almost everything but watching the stars had just sort of been the boys' thing.

Then of course there had been the dark beach. They'd agreed to be the darkness together and Sora was almost sure they would have been their forever except he ended up here first followed shortly by his friend. Obviously they'd go back there once they got out of here.]

Hey.

[The greeting was said without turning his head, choosing instead to keep his eyes on the sky, although a smile crossed his own lips. The chill of the concrete was present through the thin material of his shirt, and the thicker material of the hoodie he wore over it, sleeve rolled up, revealing his forearms, even present white arm band still in place.

It was so different than the last time they had watched the stars. There was no water gently crashing against the beach, no waves moving and splashing, no sand under his fingers. But if he had to choose between the two, the choice would have been easy. As long as the realm of light was safe, he would willingly stay on that beach forever with Sora.]

[The view was kind of nice from their very own rooftop, but something warmer then the concrete would be great. Sora thought that it would make an awesome last minute spot when both of them were too busy to get to whatever one they decided on.]

So, where do you wanna try tomorrow night?

[His time together with Riku on that beach, the conversations they had, the agreement they'd come to was one of the reasons he'd moved out of the lakeside cottage. It had been nice living with all of those people but Riku hadn't wanted to live with the crowd of mostly Sora's friends. After he realized that his friend had been serious about moving into his own place Sora had known that he'd go without a fight.]
