It was for the best then that Altaïr hadn't been asked to lend a hand in the kitchen as beyond catching fish or game, he had few cooking skills to speak of. Malik had proven to be the one here who could adapt to the modern appliances; Altaïr only had a small stove that a shop assistant had explained to him for cooking his meals at the bureau.

"Is Dastan not joining us?" It had been some time since he had spoken to their Persian brother and it would be good to see him once more, especially at this time of year and with them gathered in one place.

He was glad though that Desmond had put his gifts under the tree as he had known of the tradition from talking to locals but it had seemed such a silly thing to do instead of handing them directly to the recipient but he placed them down and looked over to Claudia. He hadn't met her in person yet and the resemblance was so much more striking that he found himself staring before he caught himself and managed a smile.

Desmond ignored Ezio's sarcastic comment and raised an eyebrow at his suspicious stare to the oven. The young man was still getting used to people not knowing of all the technology of his time and world. He knew he should feel grateful for having fell into a Dreamworld that seemed based of all he used to know back home. The smirk stayed in place as he spoke again: "Do you need any help with that?" Though, it would be quite funny if the Italian decided to turn off the oven by stabbing it with his Hidden Blade ( ... )

Shut the hell up, Desmond. That's the only thing you're even good for is dealing with modern technology. Okay, not really, but give him some credit at least for not blowing up the house. Though he probably would have if Claudia hadn't been there...that or throw the turkey out the window in frustration ( ... )

Claudia blinked as she glanced between the two men. She didn't know why they were staring at her so intensely...it was kind of weird. Then again she didn't mind the attention so she just smiled as she extended her hand out and shook her future great nephew's hand.

"It's a pleasure to finally meet you both." Atleast now she could put a face to all the names. She has alot of questions to ask now. Like how Desmond's name popped up in Roma in their time...Oh well Ezio would be hearing an ear full of it tonight.

The annoying noise the oven made caused Claudia to jump and to release her hand from Desmond. She wasn't use to things making such noises at her. "Oh mio dio Non ci sarà mai utilizzato per questo..." (Oh my God I will never get use to this.)

It was really for the best that Altaïr was not the man he had once been; for one he most likely would have turned down the invite but if he had made an appearance, he'd have planted a boot firmly in Desmond's backside to kick him into the oven.

"Likewise," he replied, giving a small smile and it was odd to think that this was his family, separated by many generations but still his flesh and blood, here in this strange dreamworld. At Ezio's words he'd nodded and smiled, it really had been too long since the original trio of the Brotherhood in Somarium had done anything together - maybe he should suggest meeting up to start the new year off well for the Inspector with a short jaunt across the rooftops.

"I suppose this is a first for you Desmond - meeting with all of us and not talking of destinies or the training you have ahead of you," Altaïr remarked as casually as he could, smiling as he moved to lean against a counter, watching the goings on.
